Challenge: Design a website whose audience uses a number of legacy browsers, access the site from low-bandwith connection points, and demand the site in non-Romance languages.
Strategy: OGMI is a firm that pairs engineers seeking jobs with positions in North Africa and the Middle East. Users access the site via search engines or direct referrals. Because many of these users access the site over low speed internet connections with legacy and nontraditional browsers, the design of the site needed to embrace older web standards and be optimized to load quickly. Additionally, the style needed to be prepared to handle right-to-left text when the English would be translated into Arabic.
Result: Immediately after launching, the site garnered immediate interest among targeted user groups. After an analysis of web traffic, a greater than expected share of users came from the Middle East, improving OGMI's profile among employers and engineers.
